There are different types of disasters and survival situations that can arise when least expected. For example, natural disasters such as earthquakes, floods, hurricanes and tornadoes happen without much warning. Survival scenarios vary and it is highly recommend that you prepare yourself for any situation. Mainly focus on the scenarios that you are more likely to come across. If you live in California then it would be smart to prepare for an earthquake disaster whereas if you lived in the Midwest, you would prepare for tornadoes. If your location is near the coast then prepare to survive a flood and such. According to studies, there have been more natural disasters occurring lately and they are becoming more and more powerful.

Scientists are warning that the globe is experiencing drastic changes. What this means is that we have to be able to adapt quickly in order to survive. Adapting means acquiring new knowledge and skills in order to live. We have managed to survive and evolve into what we are now. But nature is not just going to stop changing for humanity. We are a part of nature. We have to be willing to make our own changes to fit in this new world. Not everything can be blamed on nature however. We are also responsible for major global shifts due to our lack of foresight.

In the name of progress, we let industrialism take over and as a result, we have become responsible for polluting our world. We have allowed our greed to consume us and our planet. Our ecosystem is dying and it will bring us down with it if we don’t do something now about it. Regardless, there are many that suggest it is already too late to save our ecosystem. Instead, they insist that we now have to focus on surviving in a more chaotic world. Nobody really knows what is going to happen in the future but what we do know is that adaptation is a must. Perpetual war might bring about nuclear fallout and plunge us into a post-apocalyptic world. That is an extreme scenario but nonetheless, anything is possible. We do not know what lies ahead and a simple vacation or camping trip can turn into a deadly situation.

There are countless stories of people getting stuck in situations that seemed very hopeless. For example, people have found themselves getting lost in the wilderness while going on a recreational hike. There are stories where campers have unfortunately ended up deep in the woods not knowing how to get out. A simple prep such as making sure you carry a lighter to start a fire or a compass to navigate could mean the difference between life and death.

As previously mentioned, scenarios may vary but the overall lesson is the same; better to prepare and increase your chances of survival than to leave it all up to chance. There is a new generation of preppers that have started to prepare for situations that seem absurd like a zombie apocalypse. Maybe a farfetched idea for some, but for others, it is well within the realm of possibilities. Whatever the reason for prepping is, be aware that any situation can arise so be prepared for anything.
